I once used a coat hanger to fix a throttle cable. Can't do that with drive-by-wire.

Jana672 is spot on with the too many computers thing lol. My friend spent hours on a simple fix only to find out he needed a proprietary tool. Now even changing a battery can trigger a system reset. It's getting ridiculous.
