Spent $260 on a scanner that couldn't read a 2006 Corolla, the $40 one did
Bought a fancy scanner off the tool truck thinking I needed live data for everything. First car I hooked it to was an 06 Corolla with a dead misfire, and it wouldn't pull codes without a $300 software unlock. Grabbed the cheap $40 one out of my bottom drawer, had the P0301 in ten seconds. That scanner sat in my box for eight months before I sold it to a guy for $150. What scanners are you all actually running, because I clearly don't know how to shop for them.
