Tried the zip tie trick on a sagging exhaust and it held for 11 miles
A guy rolled into my shop in Fresno with a broken hanger on his old Camry and no money to fix it right then. I rigged it with three zip ties just so he could get home, and I figured it would snap in two minutes. He came back 11 miles later and those cheap ties were still holding fine. Then he wanted me to use them on everything, brakes included, and I had to talk him out of it. I learned they work great as a quick limp-home fix but never as a real repair. Has anyone here had a customer ask you to reuse a temp fix like that as the final job?
