Booked a Phoenix to Chicago move for my Civic, dispatcher went quiet for 5 days, here's what fixed it
Honestly I was sitting in my living room last month staring at a quote screen that hadn't moved since Tuesday, and my pickup window was 3 days away. I had already put down a $150 deposit with a broker who matched me to a carrier, and when I called the main line twice a day for 5 days straight I kept getting 'your driver will reach out soon.' So I started calling the carrier's DOT number directly off the FMCSA site instead of the broker, and a dispatcher picked up in 20 minutes and told me my pickup was actually set for the following week, not the date I agreed to. I got the deposit refunded and rebooked through a company that gave me the carrier's name and MC number in writing before I paid a dime. Has anyone else had a broker promise a pickup date that the actual carrier never agreed to?
