Vent: got 3 quotes for shipping my truck from Phoenix to Seattle, the cheapest one was $400 more than I planned
I needed to move my Tacoma from Phoenix up to Seattle last month and figured I would just pick the lowest number from the first few sites that popped up. Got three quotes back, $850, $1100, and $640, so I went with the $640 one thinking I was being smart. Two days before pickup the broker called and said they couldn't find a driver for that rate unless I added $400, which put me right back at $1040. I called the $1100 company back and they said they had a truck already heading that route on the 14th, no games, and it showed up on time. Turns out the cheapest quote was just a bait number to get me on the phone, and the middle one was the honest one. Has anyone else had a broker jack up the price after you already agreed, or am I just bad at picking which ones to trust?
