Took me 3 wire harness rebuilds to stop trusting the old diagram

Our shop in Tulsa had this ancient wiring schematic for a Falcon 50 that everyone swore by, and I kept chasing faults that matched it perfectly. After the third rebuild, I actually pulled the harness apart and traced every pin myself, turns out an avionics shop in the 90s swapped two grounds and nobody ever updated the paperwork. That experience flipped me hard, now I always validate against the physical wire before I trust any drawing, no matter how clean it looks. Has anyone else caught a legacy diagram leading them down the wrong path, and how do you handle convincing the older guys to double check?
