Pushed the wrong Sierra route for 3 days because a blog said it was easy and my knees still hate me
Tried the Kearsarge to Whitney stretch two summers ago after some blog called it a chill intro trip, blew out my left knee on day one and had to bail down Onion Valley while a ranger named Dave just shook his head at me, so what routes do you all trust when nobody's blog matches the actual trail?
Dude, does anyone actually finish a route and then write an honest blog about it, or is it only the people who got lucky that post? I did the same thing with a so called easy pass in the Winds, got cliffed out, and lost half a day backtracking while my buddy just laughed at me. Now I only trust trip reports from people who admit they screwed up somewhere.
