After a messy hike, I'm rethinking my whole backyard storage setup.
I was on a trail and my shelter got drenched in rain. At my house, the backyard shed was packed full, so the wet fabric just sat and got funky. How do you all handle storing damp outdoor things so they don't rot?

But sometimes you just gotta shove it in the shed and deal with it later, skyler_lopez.

Yeah, just dry stuff outside before putting it away... keeps it from getting nasty.

Hang wet gear in a breezy spot... even overnight to make sure it's bone dry.

I saw a camping blog that stressed the 'bone dry' part too. They said even a little dampness can let mold grow in stuff like sleeping bags or backpacks. I tried it with my wet hiking boots after a rainy trip, left them on the porch overnight with a fan. The breeze really helped, and they were totally dry by morning. Do you find some stuff dries faster than others in the breeze?
