Can we talk about family fights over the shed keys?

I keep hearing that one locked shed is the best way to store backyard stuff for families. But I have to say, I don't think that's true at all. In my house, it just leads to constant bickering about who has the key. For instance, my kids argue every time they need to get their bikes or sports gear out. Even my wife and I get into it when we can't find the key quickly. When family visits, they always ask where it is, and it's a whole thing. I believe having open shelves or bins for each person's things would cut down on these problems. It might not look as neat, but it saves a lot of stress.

My buddy's shed key chaos is legendary lol. Last Saturday his kid needed the lawn mower for a side job, but his wife had taken the key off the ring and left it in her jeans. They turned the house upside down for forty minutes, everyone yelling and checking pockets. The kid ended up being super late and missed the job entirely. Just a total mess over one stupid key.

A friend of mine had a garage key nightmare last Tuesday. He tore apart the kitchen looking for it, even checked the junk drawer twice. Eventually found it in the pocket of his workout shorts from the day before. Made him late for work and he had to apologize to his boss.

Wait, she took the key off the ring? That's just asking for trouble right there. Like, why not just leave it on the ring where everyone can find it? Your buddy's family must have been so frustrated.
