Just figured out why my shed shelves kept sagging, and the fix cost me $6

After two of my 50 lb bags of fertilizer bowed the MDF shelves in my shed off Route 9 in Howell, I screwed a 1x2 strip under the front lip of each one and they held all winter, so has anyone tried this on garage racks too?
