Saw a guy at a Chicago dog park say small dogs don't need training, and the comments went wild
I was at a dog park in Chicago last weekend and this guy with a tiny chihuahua was telling everyone that small dogs don't need obedience training because you can just pick them up if they act up. A few people actually nodded along, so I pulled up the viral video he was quoting. The guy in the video says training is 'cruel' for small breeds and that they 'know what they need.' I watched the whole 12 minute clip and he never once shows a dog actually listening to him. The whole thing falls apart when you realize his own dog jumps on strangers and barks nonstop. I tried to explain that a 5 pound dog with no recall can still run into traffic or bite a kid, but the guy just shrugged. Has anyone else run into this take in real life? How do you even argue with someone who thinks size means no rules?
