Hot take: my brother in law swears the moon landing was shot in a Nevada studio, and he brought a 47 page printout to Thanksgiving to prove it
Honestly I did not want to get into it over turkey but he would not let it go. He pulled out this stack of papers he printed at the library in Reno and started reading off "facts" like the flag waving and the shadows being wrong. The part that got me was when he claimed the whole thing was directed by Stanley Kubrick, who he says also faked the Holocaust for the movies. I asked him one simple question, how did 400,000 people who worked on Apollo stay quiet for 55 years, and he said they were all paid off. My wife just stared at her plate. Ngl I think the real answer is he watched one 3 hour video on YouTube and now he is an expert. Does anyone have a good one liner for the next family dinner so I can shut this down faster?
