Thought my buddy's 'never trust a weather app' take was nuts, til his roof leak proved me wrong
My buddy Dale has been saying for two years that phone weather apps are all lies and you should only trust the sky and a cheap barometer. I laughed at him every time, called it his old man take, and kept planning my weekend jobs off the forecast. Last Saturday the app said 10 percent chance of rain for Austin, so I left a tear-off stacked on a garage roof I was working on. Two hours later it poured, and I spent 45 minutes chasing soggy shingles down a driveway. Now I'm rethinking whether Dale was right the whole time, so what do you all actually trust for weather before a job?
