Heard a contractor on a podcast say those "just get it done" clients are usually under crazy pressure from their own bosses. Makes sense why they wouldn't even look at the price.

My buddy Jake's copy from 2006 has a wheat field drawn in permanent marker on one of the hexes. Some guy at a party lost the original piece and tried to make a new one. It looks terrible and we still use it.

Honestly sounds like a one-off mistake... maybe they just forgot to put the stuff on? Could always ask for a new one next time.

That "placement for easy grow-out" thing is key. I had a client with a really short haircut who wanted to grow it into a bob, and I finally just started drawing a diagram on a napkin showing where we'd need to blunt cut it every few months to stop it from turning into a weird triangle shape. She said it was the first time it made sense.

Yeah, the glue thing @leo_johnson mentioned is mostly for photos, not video.
