The $45 'focus lamp' I bought from a viral ad was just a desk fan with LEDs

Fell for one of those TikTok shop lamps that promise deep work mode or whatever... it hums louder than my truck engine and the light flickers like a bad gas station sign. Returned it after 3 days but shipping cost me $12. Anyone else get burned by those overproduced gadget ads?

Remember that the "focus mode" on those lamps is just a marketing term, not a real feature. Most of them use basic off-the-shelf LED strips with cheap drivers that always flicker. You did the right thing returning it, shipping costs are the trap they bank on.

Ever tried just soldering your own dimmer on? Way cheaper fix.
