My 20 year old KitchenAid finally died mid batch last Tuesday, and I'm weirdly okay with it
Was making a double batch of chocolate chip cookies for my kid's class party on Tuesday night and the motor just started grinding and then nothing, right in the middle of creaming butter and sugar. I finished those cookies by hand with a wooden spoon and honestly my arm was sore the next day, but they came out fine and the kids ate every one. Now I'm staring at $300 mixers online and wondering if a refurb is worth it or if I should just accept my fate as a hand mixer, what did you all do when yours finally kicked it?
weirdly okay with it" is a funny way to put it. My grandmother's hand mixer is still going after 40 years and I'm pretty sure it runs on spite and dust at this point. Meanwhile my fancy stuff all dies young. If your arm survived the wooden spoon workout, maybe that's the real test.
