Walked into a new bakery in Tempe and their display case was a total mess
I stopped by this spot called 'Crust & Crumb' on Mill Avenue yesterday afternoon. All their croissants were shoved to the back, the scones were piled on top of each other, and half the labels were missing. It looked like someone just threw everything in there after the morning rush. How do you expect people to buy stuff when they can't even see what you have? Does anyone else get really annoyed by a poorly kept pastry case?

What if the mess means they're actually selling a lot? A packed case could just be a sign of a busy morning with real baking, not just for show. I'd take fresh stock over a pretty display any day.

My local bagel spot always looks like a tornado hit the case by 10 AM. I asked about it once and the guy said they bake in three waves because the first batch sells out so fast. That messy case meant I got a pumpernickel bagel still warm from the oven. It completely changed how I see a busy counter now.

Ugh, that's the worst. Did they at least have good stuff behind the mess? I went to a place last week where the cookies were all broken in the case, like someone just dropped the tray in there. Totally kills the vibe.
