DAE realize they were cutting fades wrong until a 12 year old called them out?

Been cutting hair 9 years in Sacramento and always pushed my clippers up against the grain on the sides, thought I had it down. Kid sits in my chair, looks in the mirror and says 'my last guy went the other way and it came out smoother.' Tried it his way on the next three heads and yeah, way cleaner. Anyone else get humbled by a client who knows more than they should?
