Found out my $90 clipper blade lasts 2 weeks less than I thought, math check?

I track my blade swaps in a little notebook. Last month I switched to a new brand, nothing fancy, just what the supply shop had. After 14 days of regular cuts, I noticed the edge pulling on thick spots. I figured it was me, so I checked the manufacturer's website. Turns out their expected life is 80 cuts, not the 100 I assumed. I've done 78 this month. Has anyone else actually counted cuts instead of going by feel for blade swaps?

Huh, that's wild that 78 is the magic number for you too. What made you start tracking cuts in the first place, was it just noticing the drag one day or did you have a bad blade failure? I'm curious if you count by the actual number of haircuts or if you count by some other thing like hours of motor running. Also, do you find yourself second guessing the count when a blade still feels sharp past 80, or do you swap it out no matter what to stay consistent?

I count every single cut too, 78 is exactly when mine start dragging.
