inJust realized my brother's half-hearted apology mirrored a celebrity video I saw
Isn't it possible that people say sorry like that just to move on quickly? Tbh, @thomas441, sometimes avoiding blame is easier than starting a big fight over leftovers or work files.

inUpdate: This coastal survey wrecked my knees for a week

inTending bar through the live music shutdown news gave me a new view
Used to buy the noise complaint angle hook, line, and sinker. Figured it was just bad neighbors or too loud bands. Your post shows it's really about money pushing out the little guys. Makes you wonder how often the real story gets buried. Now I see why locals are so angry about losing their spots. It changes how I see all those clean-up-the-city news stories.

inHot take: Our thriller binge night turned into a screaming match with my friends
Three years ago, I figured watch groups were overhyped. My mind changed during a 'Stranger Things' season finale binge. When Eleven closed the gate, half the room cheered while the other half screamed at the screen about plot holes. We got so loud the landlord texted us. That chaos made me see the point. Now I seek out shows with big moments that split opinions, like 'The Good Place' finale.

inHow a pile of discarded planks changed my carpentry for the better
Think about the wood grain you found. Like @beth147 mentioned, old wood is tougher, but did you run into any hidden nails or knots that changed your plans? I ask because last time I used barn wood, a rusted nail wrecked my planer blade, so now I always use a metal detector first.
