inWarning about those 'quick forge' firebrick kits
Yeah, those kits often use the cheapest insulating brick, not proper refractory. You need to look for a 2600 degree rated soft brick, the white kind. Anything labeled "insulating firebrick" from a pottery or kiln supplier should hold up.

inI was at the museum in St. Augustine and saw a piece of pottery that changed my mind
My grandpa's old workshop had a wooden beam with height marks for all us kids. Found it after he passed, and seeing my dad's name from 1962 carved next to mine from 1998 was a gut punch. It's just pencil on wood, but it connected three generations in a way a formal family photo never could. Those casual marks people leave behind have a weird power.

inUnpopular opinion: I paid $50 for a 'verified' blind item about a pop star's secret marriage that turned out to be a total fanfiction plot.
Ugh, that's the worst! It feels like everyone's trying to sell a secret these days, not just about bands but like, everything. Makes it hard to know what's real.

inA client in Denver told me to just use pocket screws for a whole kitchen install
Man, that's rough. How do you even get through to someone who's that set on a bad idea? Good on you for sticking to your guns on the build quality.
