Question about paper coupon stacks vs. Honey: my mom's Sunday insert run beat my browser extension by $63 in one trip
My mom still clips the Sunday inserts. I switched to Honey about 4 years ago and figured she was wasting her time. Then last month we both bought the same laundry detergent and toothpaste and paper towels on the same day, same store in Fort Wayne. She paid $41 and change. I paid $104 and change. She had stacked a store sale with two manufacturer coupons and a rain check from 3 weeks back. Honey gave me one code worth $2 off.
Her trick is she waits for the sale to repeat and holds her coupons for the right week. My app just grabs whatever pops up at checkout.
Now I'm wondering if the inserts actually still pay off or if she just got lucky that week. Anyone here still doing paper coupons, and is it worth the time?
