Why does nobody talk about how hard it is to just ask a dumb question online?
Three days ago I posted a basic question about growing tomatoes in a Facebook group and got 47 replies, 40 of which were people arguing with each other. My actual question never got answered. Back in 2019 I could ask the same thing and get five real answers in an hour. Now every thread turns into a fight about soil brands or who is a "real" gardener. I just wanted to know if eggshells actually help or if that is a myth. Feels like the whole point of a Q&A space got lost somewhere. Does anyone know a place where you can still ask something simple without it turning into a war?
Watched a buddy of mine ask a super basic question in a woodworking group last month and within an hour it turned into a whole thing about whether he was even a "real" carpenter. He ended up deleting the post and just googled it himself lol. Honestly smaller niche forums or even old reddit threads seem way calmer than those big facebook groups now.
