My cordless clipper battery died halfway through a skin fade last Thursday, right in the middle of a busy afternoon.

Honestly my buddy had that happen at his shop last month. He had to finish the fade with his old corded clippers that were basically dull. The guy in the chair looked so nervous the whole time. Tbh it was a total mess and they had to comp the cut.

Sounds like your buddy dodged a bullet by having any backup at all. Could've been way worse if he had nothing.
