The week I lost 4 regulars in 3 days and almost quit

It started Tuesday when my 10 year client of 8 years told me he was moving to Florida. Wednesday I had a guy get up mid haircut because his wife called saying the dog ate something bad. Then Thursday two brothers I've cut since they were kids said they were switching to a place closer to their new school. That week I went from 30 booked appointments down to 18 walk ins. Has anyone else ever had a run of bad luck like that where people just disappear for reasons you can't control?

Oh my, that's a rough stretch. Losing regulars like that in a wave really makes you question everything. But sometimes it's just the nature of this business, people move and life happens.

Idk what it is but when it rains it really pours sometimes. I had a whole table of regulars move away within like two months last spring, three of them for jobs and one just decided to relocate. It felt like I was starting over with new faces every shift. Totally agree with you @young.thomas, it's just part of the deal but it still stings when you see their chairs stay empty.
