Went from freehanding fades with clippers to using a 1.5 guard as my baseline and my blend game jumped
Started doing this about 6 months ago after a guy at the Sacramento barber expo showed me his setup, and honestly I wish someone told me sooner. Anyone else change up their fade routine like this or am I late to the party?
Wait, did he tell you to use the 1.5 as a baseline and then go shorter from there, or the other way around? Because that part trips people up a lot and it changes your whole lineup. If you set the 1.5 first and then work down with your no guard and half guard, that makes sense. But you can't really skip the lever and the corners just because the guard is doing more work now. The guard gives you a clean line to hit, but the fade itself still lives in how you take the weight off at the end. Curious how you're handling the blend above the baseline, cause that's usually where people get stuck.
