inVent: Paid $40 for a 'media literacy' course that just taught me to spot fake outrage

inGot called out for spoiling a show in a thread about 'Attack on Titan'
That "text each other directly" rule is a lifesaver. My old group chat was a minefield before we figured that out. Someone spoiled a huge twist in a show I was two episodes from finishing. It totally deflated the whole build-up. Now we just ask "where are you at?" before saying anything big. It's a tiny bit of work that saves a lot of hurt feelings.

inUpdate: I finally figured out why my morning brew tasted like dirt for a year
coffee dust soup" is a bit much. I've used a cheap blade grinder for years and my coffee is fine. It's just coffee, not a science project. Some people act like you need a lab setup for a morning cup. If it's hot and has caffeine, it works.

inVent: My shellac bloomed on a 1920s vanity in 90% humidity
Garages are brutal on wood. Mine warped a whole set of chairs last winter. The damp cold just gets into everything. Such a frustrating way to lose good furniture.

inI was reading a book on medieval armor and discovered a knight's full plate harness weighed only about 45 to 55 pounds.
Only about 45 to 55 pounds" is still a lot to haul around in a fight. That's like wearing a small kid on your entire body while someone tries to stab you.
