Pulled the 4 inch backsplash off my guest bath in Tucson and the wall behind it was bone dry after 9 years
I ripped out that short backsplash last weekend expecting mold and rot since it never got sealed right, but the drywall and studs looked brand new. Turns out a $3 tube of silicone I ran along the top edge 9 years ago was the only thing that saved it. So why do people skip caulking that seam when it's the cheapest insurance in the whole room?
