That 2014 forum post about a stadium naming rights deal that aged like milk
I was cleaning out my bookmarks last week and found a post from a random sports business forum. Someone in April 2014 wrote that the new San Francisco 49ers stadium would struggle to sell naming rights because the tech bubble was about to burst. Fast forward nine years and Levi's Stadium has a deal worth $220 million per year. That prediction was off by about two lifetimes. Anyone else sit on old takes that turned out hilariously wrong?

My buddy once bet me in 2015 that Deflategate would end Tom Brady's career, and he was so sure he put real money on it. We were both dead wrong, but the funny thing is we still bring it up every time the Patriots play a night game. Kinda makes you wonder what current hot takes we'll all be laughing at a decade from now, right?

Wait, is there a hotter take out there right now than people saying quarterbacks aren't worth big contracts? @noahgreen, I'm calling it now, in ten years we'll be laughing at anyone who thought the Chiefs were done after that rough start this season. Everyone's so quick to write off teams after three games, it's honestly wild. Remember when people said the Eagles' window was closed last year? Yeah, that aged real well. I just hope my "Deshaun Watson will bounce back" take from 2023 doesn't end up in the same hall of shame as your buddy's Deflategate bet.
