That 2014 forum thread about the Hudson Yards escalator failure aged well
Back in 2014 I remember reading a short post on a construction forum from a worker who said the Hudson Yards escalator specs looked rushed and underbuilt. Everyone laughed it off, me included. Then last month when the news broke about those escalators breaking down constantly and people getting stranded, I dug up that old thread. It was sitting right there, plain as day, predicting the exact problem with the gear ratios. Has anyone else gone back to find a random comment that turned out to be spot on years later?
