Back in 2012, I saved a post from a user who broke down how a gaming studio's parent company had a clause about selling off the IP if the main franchise flopped. Everyone laughed at the time, called it doom posting. Then the next game tanked and the studio got sold for parts within six months. That thread got linked everywhere after the news hit. It is a weird feeling when a random internet stranger ends up being more right than all the press. Makes you wonder how many other quiet warnings are sitting in old threads waiting for their moment.
