I finally hit 1000 days on Duolingo and it was way harder than I thought
Honestly, I started the streak back in 2022 just to pass time on the bus. I didn't think I'd make it past a month. But after 3 years of daily Spanish practice, I finally hit that big round number last Tuesday. It mattered because I can actually hold a basic conversation with my coworker Maria now, and she told me I don't sound like a robot anymore. Has anyone else here stuck with a language app for that long, or am I just weird?

1000 days is just flexing a streak when real fluency takes actual immersion.

Yeah but consistency matters too! You can't just raw dog immersion without building up your base first or you'll drown. 1000 days means you actually stuck with it long enough to make the real deep stuff click.

It's like anything worth learning right? People want shortcuts but the real magic happens when you've put in the time to let the whole thing marinate.
