Paid $75 for a Jim Morrison bio and it was basically a Wikipedia rip off

I grabbed that big Morrison book at Powell's last month cause everyone raves about it. 75 bucks and the guy just quotes old interviews for 400 pages, no new insight at all. I could've read the Doors wiki and gotten the same stories about Miami and Paris. How do these dead celeb bios keep getting published with zero original research? Anyone else burn cash on a hyped biography that gave you nothing?

Whoa, hold on. I actually thought that book was pretty solid. Maybe it's just because I'm a huge Doors nerd, but having all those old interviews in one place felt like a goldmine, not a rip-off. Sure, it's not brand new info, but it beats clicking through 50 different fan sites.

Oh wait, those interviews were actually in an old fanzine from the 80s, not the official archives...
