Dropped a chain tool at my shop in Akron and now my crew is split on the fix
Had a derailleur hanger snap on a customer's bike during a tune-up last week at my shop in Akron, and I had to decide on the spot whether to bend the old hanger back or swap it for a new one. Half my crew says always replace, the other half says a careful bend with the alignment gauge is fine if the metal isn't cracked. I went with the bend and it rode straight for 20 miles on the test loop, but now I'm second guessing whether I made the call too fast. Where do you all land on bending versus replacing a hanger, and does the frame material change your answer?
