Hot take: The best brisket I ever had came from a gas station in Lubbock, Texas

Look at their website for a minute. How many locations do they actually have? Because from what I remember, Rudy's started as a real honest to goodness local BBQ joint in Texas, then slowly grew into a chain over like 30 years. So is it still considered "local" if it started that way but now has ten or fifteen spots? I feel like that blurs the line between a real local place and just another chain. Where do you personally draw that line? Because I think a lot of people would say no if they found out it had multiple locations.

Spent 3 years trying to sort out a pottery sherd that looked Roman but wasn't

Ngl, that retired curator probably saved you years more of frustration with that one glance. Those Staffordshire factories made so much stuff that looks way older than it actually is, especially with their glazes that mimic earlier techniques. Tbh, I bet half the "Roman" pottery in small museums is actually 18th or 19th century stuff that just got labeled wrong decades ago.

Hot take: that apology from the wellness influencer with the fake cancer story felt rehearsed

Yeah that coffee shop thing is rough. Actions speak louder.

Threw my resume into a weird job board for local government roles on a whim and got an interview within 3 days

Oh man, it really is though. I swear mine has been gathering digital dust longer than my actual paper resumes from 2015. I check it like once every six months and have to pretend I remember what half those connections even worked on. The worst part is when recruiters message me about jobs I'd never take, and I have to write back something that sounds polite but actually means "no thanks." It's basically just a parking lot for old job titles and fake enthusiasm about "team culture." At this point my profile is held together with outdated skills and the hope that no one looks too close.
