Rant: I paid $80 for a 'binge tracker' app and it ruined my weekend

Downloaded this app that promised to track how long I binged so I could pace myself through a 9 season show. Spent $80 on a yearly sub after the free trial. First night it crashed twice and reset my progress on season 2 of The Expanse. The next day I just went back to a paper notepad and a timer on my phone. Waste of cash, and now I'm paranoid about any app asking for a subscription. Anyone else burn money on a streaming side gadget that flopped?
