A nurse in Amarillo told me the apple cider vinegar shot I was doing every morning was wrecking my tooth enamel
I was at a walk in clinic in Amarillo last Tuesday for a sore throat and the nurse asked what supplements I was on. When I said I knock back a shot of apple cider vinegar at 6am every day, she pulled out her phone and showed me a photo of her own front teeth after 2 years of the same habit. She said the acid sits on your enamel for hours before you eat anything and it's worse than soda because you're doing it on an empty stomach. I had no clue my morning 'health' routine could do that, and now I'm wondering what else I've been doing backwards. Has anyone here switched to taking it with a straw or in capsule form and noticed a difference?
Three years ago I was doing the same thing and my dentist in Lubbock finally asked me point blank if I drank a lot of lemon water or vinegar. I switched to the capsules from Walmart and honestly noticed zero difference in how I felt, so I just stopped taking it all together. What helped me most was waiting 30 minutes after the shot before brushing, and rinsing with plain water right after instead of letting it sit. The straw thing works too but you still get some on your teeth on the way down.
