Appreciation post: the lady at the vitamin shop in Boise who told me to check my B12 instead of buying more pills

So I walk into this little shop on State Street about a month ago, ready to drop $60 on a bottle of "energy support" capsules, and the lady behind the counter asks me one thing: when was my last blood test? I said never, honestly, and she pulls out a laminated sheet showing that B12 gummies can only absorb so much before your body just flushes it out. Turns out I could get the same 1000 mcg pills she was selling for $9 at the grocery store, or better yet, just ask my doctor for a $15 lab test first. That number stuck with me, $15 to find out if I even needed the stuff. Back when I got into this whole thing five years ago, nobody at the shops asked questions, they just sold you whatever had the best label. Anyone else have a store employee actually talk them out of a purchase like that?
