My barber said he takes 8 supplements a day and none of them have dosing info on the label
I was getting a haircut last Tuesday at this little place on Division Street and my barber started telling me about his morning stack. He rattles off eight different things, magnesium, zinc, some mushroom blend, a greens powder, turmeric, and a few others I lost track of. I asked him how much of each he takes and he just said "a scoop" or "a couple caps" for every single one. That hit me weird because here is a guy spending maybe $150 a month on this stuff and he has no clue what dose he is getting or if it even matters. I looked at two of the bottles while I waited and neither one listed how much of the actual herb or mineral was in a serving, just the total blend weight. It made me think about how easy it is to buy the idea of a supplement without ever checking if the amount does anything. I am not saying his stuff is junk, but taking a mystery scoop of eight things feels more like a hobby than a health plan. Does anyone here actually read the back label before buying, or do you just go by what a friend or a guy at the gym says?
