Tried magnesium glycinate for sleep instead of melatonin and I'm honestly stunned at the difference
For about 8 months I was taking 5mg of melatonin every night to fall asleep but kept waking up at 3am feeling groggy and weird. My buddy who works at a supplement shop in Denver suggested I swap it for 400mg of magnesium glycinate about an hour before bed instead. I was skeptical since melatonin is like $8 and the magnesium was $22, but after two weeks I'm falling asleep just as fast and actually staying asleep until my alarm. The dreams are way more vivid too, which I wasn't expecting at all. Has anyone else made this switch and did the vivid dreams ever calm down, or is that just how it goes?
Wait, the vivid dreams are from the magnesium? I just figured my brain was doing its own thing lately and never connected the dots. Two weeks in and mine are still going strong, so I don't know if they calm down or we just get used to them.
