Stopped by that old forge demo in Colonial Williamsburg and the 'smith' wouldn't answer a single question about his coal
Took the family down to Williamsburg two weeks ago and stood around the blacksmith shop for maybe 40 minutes watching the guy work. Every time I asked about his fire management or where the coal came from he just smiled and said the demonstration was scripted, like I was supposed to clap and move along. Is this just how it goes at living history spots now, or did I catch the one guy who doesn't actually work the trade?
