Unpopular opinion: drop the coal forge for knife heat treating, a guy at the Ashokan hammer-in in 2019 told me so and my 1084 blades stopped warping
I fought him on it for 20 minutes, but after two warped blades in a row that day I switched to a two brick propane setup with a thermocouple and haven't lost a knife since, so what are you all actually running for even heat?
