The weatherman who pointed at the wrong map for a full 40 seconds

Caught this live last Tuesday during the 6 PM local news in Columbus. The guy was explaining a snowstorm hitting the north side, but his hand was planted firmly on the southern counties the entire time. Nobody on set said a word, not even the anchor who kept nodding along. It took until the commercial break for the director to cut away, and the clip's been stuck in my head since. Do you think these people ever watch their own replays and just cringe for a week straight?

Ha! I'm going to play the other side here because honestly, I think we're being too hard on the guy. Weather maps are a total mess these days, all those glowing colors and moving lines and little icons that look the same from three feet away. He probably saw the blob on the edge of his screen and just went with his gut, and honestly, the anchor nodding along probably didn't even notice because she's reading cue cards in her head. Plus, let's be real, nobody in Columbus is trusting a single TV weatherman for their actual commute plans, they all have five apps on their phone telling them different things anyway. The director cutting to commercial was probably the smartest move, just let it die and move on, and I bet the guy had a good laugh about it over beers after the shift. So no, I don't think he's cringing for a week, I think he's glad people are talking about him instead of the boring normal forecast he does every other night.
