Remember when we used soapstone and a straightedge for layout, now it's all tablets
I watched an apprentice pull up a 3D model on his phone to mark a manway yesterday, and it hit me that 15 years back in East Chicago we'd spend an hour with string lines and chalk, so I gotta ask, do the older hands on your crew still sketch stuff out on paper or are we all going digital now?

Tablet or not, a tap on the glass still tells you more than any screen about whether the layout's right. Honestly, seems like we traded chalk dust for a dead battery and a cracked case, but the work still gets done the slow way when it counts.
