Slag buildup on my gouge tip fixed with a wet rag trick
Last Tuesday I was burning out a bad weld seam on a 2 inch header and the carbon arc kept sputtering cause slag was piling up on the copper tip. An old hand from the night crew told me to keep a soaked rag nearby and wipe the tip between passes, worked way better than tapping it on the floor. Anyone else have a quick fix like that for keeping your torch clean on long jobs?
