Why does nobody talk about the part after the meeting where people quietly agree with the person they voted against
We did The Overstory for our Tuesday group at the library in Boise and eleven of us voted to call the ending hopeful, but the parking lot talk afterward was a totally different book club. Four people who raised their hands admitted they only did it because the loud guy with the laminated notes would not stop pushing his read. I have watched this happen for two years now and it bugs me, because the vote is the least honest five minutes of the night. If your group votes out loud with hands or voices, you are not hearing from the shy half of the room, you are hearing from whoever talks fastest. Has anyone actually tried written slips or a quick round robin, and did it change what your group picked?
