I finally bought the $60 brass corner tool and it ruined my cheap one for me
Six months back I was binding a batch of journals for a craft fair in Dayton and my old $12 corner tool kept crushing the board corners on every single book. So I caved and ordered a solid brass one from a small shop in Vermont for $60, which felt dumb for one little tool. First book I pressed with it, the corner came out so crisp I actually held it up to the window to check. Now my cheap tool sits in a drawer and I feel weirdly guilty every time I see it. Has anyone else had a small tool upgrade like this change how you work, or am I just easy to impress?
