Spent $60 on a custom leather bookmark stamp and it came off after three uses.
Printed it onto a thin strip of calfskin and the foil just flaked right off the second time I opened that hardcover. Anyone else had better luck with a different material or adhesive for stamping?

Did your friend try a different glue first?

Has anyone thought about the temperature of the room when they were working with the glue? I remember a buddy of mine tried fixing a broken chair leg with super glue in his garage during winter and it just wouldn't set right... turned out the cold made it too thick to bond properly. He switched to a two-part epoxy and let it cure near a space heater overnight. That held up way better than anything else he tried. Just a thought, sometimes it's not the glue brand but the conditions around it.

Oh man, that's a good point. I had a similar thing happen when I tried to fix a broken leg on my dining table in my unheated basement last December. The super glue just turned into a thick paste that wouldn't spread right. I ended up using a two-part epoxy from Home Depot and let it cure next to the fireplace overnight, and that table leg is still rock solid two years later. Idk, temperature really does make a big difference with that stuff.
