Dating app bot catfished me for 6 weeks, I only found out by accident

Matched with someone on Hinge in March who had great banter through text. We talked every day, they even sent voice notes that sounded human. Then last Tuesday I reverse searched one of their photos because they kept dodging a video call. It was a stock photo from a Russian modeling site. I confronted them and the account vanished within an hour. The worst part is I wasted 6 weeks and 3 rescheduled dinner plans on that. Has anyone else caught a bot that put in this much effort, or is this the new standard?

Backup their pics on one of those search sites before confronting them. Saves the headache next time.
