inThought I'd try that new clipper oil everyone is talking about, big mistake
Oh man, that's rough! I've been cutting my own hair for years and never thought oil could be the problem. What brand was it exactly? I'm curious because I've been using the pink bottle stuff from the beauty supply and haven't had issues, but now I'm worried I might be next.

inJust caught myself doing a stupid pruning cut I always tell others to avoid
Oh man, red oaks are absolutely that petty. I had one in my old neighborhood that got a little nick from a lawnmower and it oozed sap for three straight summers like it was sending me a bill. You know what's funny though? I've seen people baby a sugar maple with the same cut and it just shrugs it off like nothing happened. Makes you wonder if trees have personalities or if that's just us reading too much into it. But yeah, your point about the branch collar is spot on - once that fungus gets a foothold, you might as well start planning for the removal bill down the road.

inThe way I stored board game boxes for 10 years was totally wrong
Couldn't agree more, I did the exact same thing with my old games and learned the hard way. My copy of Agricola from 2010 has a permanent dent on one corner now. It made me wonder though, do you keep all your games vertically or do you have some big heavy ones that still get laid flat on the bottom? I've got a few like Gloomhaven that I'm honestly scared to store any other way because the box is so massive and heavy. Do you think it actually matters for those giant boxes or is the weight too risky no matter what?

inHit the 300 pound mark in my shed and realized I need better shelving
Alright but three hundred pounds spread across a whole shed floor... that's like two heavy people standing around in there. Seems like gravel and pavers would handle that fine unless you're parking a car on top of it.

inPSA: Check your cutterhead tip clearance before you start digging
You ever notice how the sand just grinds those teeth down faster than anything? I had a job up near the river a couple years back and ran through three sets in one week because I kept thinking they had more left in em. Learned my lesson the hard way when the excavator started vibrating bad and I lost half a day pulling the bucket apart to check everything else. Now I just swap em every other morning on sandy sites and it saves me the headache. Keeps the hydraulic load steady too which helps the pump last longer.
