The $9 hose clamp fix that saved my washing machine from the curb
My washer started shaking so bad during the spin cycle last month that it walked halfway across the laundry room floor and I was about to price a new one. Before doing that I checked the back and found one of the four shipping bolts missing and the other three backed out about half an inch, so the drum was basically flopping loose. I grabbed a $9 pack of hose clamps at the hardware store on 8th and locked the drum bolts down tight, and it has run quiet for 6 loads now. Has anyone had a repair like this actually hold up long term, or am I just putting off the inevitable?
